African Ladies

Description: A vibrant African class project.
What you need: 

  • A4 white paper
  • A3 hard paper (or bigger)
  • Acrylic paint in a variety of colors including light green, red and black
  • Paint brushes
  • Palette
  • Scissors
  • Glue
What to do:
  1. Paint various patterns on A4 white paper.
  2. Once dry, cut the paper into strips/dress shapes.
  3. Paint an A3 hard paper completely light green or completely red.
  4. Once dry, stick the dresses onto your painted A3. (I have my students keep one of their own patterened dresses, and swap the rest with other students.)
  5. Use black paint to make the head, arms and feet of your African ladies.
Helpful Tip:
If you use a bigger paper, you can leave enough space to make a patterned frame using wax crayons later.
